About

Nice to meet you. I’m Rima.

I’m a Senior Product Designer based in Yerevan, Armenia. I design complex SaaS products, helping teams make sense of complicated requirements and shape experiences that feel clear and easy to use.

My work usually begins before there is a polished interface. I get involved in understanding the product, defining how the experience should work, and shaping the system behind it. I stay involved through final design, developer handoff, and QA.

Designing the system behind the screen

I don’t see product design as a collection of individual screens. Every decision affects something else, especially in products with complex roles, permissions, workflows, and large amounts of data.

I enjoy getting into that complexity and finding the structure inside it. The goal is not to hide how powerful a product is. It is to make that power easier for people to understand and use.

Over the past six years, I’ve worked on SaaS products across recruitment, education, and property management. My work has included early product thinking, UX architecture, interface design, and scalable design systems.

A multidisciplinary background

I started my career in graphic design in 2015 and later worked in digital marketing before moving fully into product design.

That background still shapes how I work today. Graphic design taught me how to build visual systems with a clear point of view. Marketing taught me to look beyond the interface and understand what the product needs to achieve for the business.

In 2020, I joined Ultralabs as a full-time Product Designer. In 2021, I was accepted into the Toptal network. Since then, I’ve worked with international teams on products ranging from early concepts to live platforms that continue to evolve.

Beyond work

I’m also a mother of four, so balancing complexity is not limited to my design work.

My career grew alongside my family. It started with learning graphic design during maternity leave and gradually developed into the work I do today. It wasn’t a straight path, but it taught me to keep learning, adapt quickly, and build things one step at a time.

When I’m not designing, I’m usually spending time with my family, learning something new, or thinking about how a product I just used could have been made a little clearer.

How I work

I ask questions until the product logic makes sense, not only to me, but to the people who will eventually use it.

I care about the details, but I also keep the wider system in view. I work closely with product and engineering teams throughout the process so that what gets designed can also be built and scaled.

I’m comfortable taking ownership of an unclear problem and helping the team move toward something more concrete.

Let’s talk

I’m open to Senior Product Designer and Design Lead roles, as well as selected freelance projects.

If you’re working on a complex product and need someone who can understand the system behind it, I’d be happy to hear more.
